Woman brutally murdered after being taken to hotel, accused sentenced to death

Sudeshna Mandal, Kakdwip: The judge of the Kakdwip Sub-Divisional Court sentenced the accused to death for the brutal murder of the woman. On Wednesday, the police of Fraserganj Coastal Police Station presented the accused in the South 24 Parganas Kakdwip Sub-Divisional Court on the charge of brutal murder of the woman (murder in the hotel room). Justice Tapan Mandal sentenced the accused Samar Patra to death on the basis of all the evidence.

Significantly, on April 12, 2018, the accused Samar Patra had taken a woman named Durga to a hotel from Dariknagar area of ​​Fraserganj Coastal Police Station area. There is an allegation of brutally murdering a woman in that hotel (Murder in a Hotel Room). After the murder, he escaped by breaking the window of the hotel. As soon as this incident came to the fore, there was a sensation in the whole area. After the recovery of the dead body, the police of Fraserganj Coastal Police Station have started the investigation of the incident along with the postmortem. A month and a half after the investigation began, the accused was arrested by the police of Fraserganj Coastal Police Station. Police has registered a case against the accused person under several non-bailable sections including murder. Investigating Officer Arpan Naik along with forensic experts visited the spot several times and also recorded statements of several witnesses. After a long legal process, the accused Samar Patra was finally sentenced to death by the Kakdwip Sub-Divisional Court.

In this regard, the public advocate of Kakdwip Court Amitabh Rai said that the accused person took a woman from Dariknagar in Namkhana to a hotel in Bakkhali. The man is accused of brutally killing the woman in the hotel room. After the murder, the accused escaped by breaking the glass of the hotel. Fraserganj Coastal Police Station conducted the investigation and arrested the accused after a month and a half. The police of Fraserganj Coastal Station started collecting information one after the other. Police Arpan Naik of Fraserganj Coastal Police Station has taken over the command of the investigation of this massacre. The investigating officer produced several evidences of murder in the court. Justice Tapan Mandal of Kakdwip Sub-Divisional Court on Wednesday announced the death sentence to accused Samar Patra after considering all aspects. Samar Patra’s family wept bitterly in the court premises on Wednesday. Durga’s relatives are happy that maximum punishment has been announced for the accused.
