special Report: Even today, the Meteorological Department has predicted thunder and lightning in all the districts of the state. Hail showers will be available for an additional charge. The Alipore Meteorological Department said that such an atmosphere would continue for the next 48 hours. Along with South Bengal, a warning of heavy rain has also been issued in five districts of North Bengal. However, there is a possibility that the temperature will rise again from Sunday i.e. Monday.
Met Office Source News: Thunderstorm and hailstorm conditions have developed over Jharkhand and adjoining areas due to formation of a cyclone and rapid ingress of moisture from the Bay of Bengal. Because of which stormy water will be seen in Bengal for the next 48 hours from Saturday. Winds are expected to blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kmph in some areas. Heavy rain warning has also been issued in the districts of North Bengal, especially in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri and Cooch Behar. Relatively less chance of rain in Kolkata
Alipore Meteorological Department’s eastern regional director Sanjeev Bandyopadhyay said there is no possibility of heat wave due to rain. In the next 48 hours, there will be a storm in all the districts of the state. There is also a possibility of isolated hailstorm in some districts. Heavy rain is likely at a few places in North Bengal, especially Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri and Coochbehar. As a result, heavy rain warning has been issued at one or two places in the above mentioned five districts. However, there is a possibility of an increase in the day temperature from the next 2 days.
