
New Delhi: Corona’s havoc is increasing in the whole country and along with it, Influenza has also come. Both of these are troubling the common people. Prime Minister Narendra Modi sat in such an emergency meeting. The Prime Minister gave a special message in a meeting with senior officials on Wednesday evening to review the preparedness of the health system.
In today’s meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed on the need for laboratory surveillance, genome testing and testing in cases of severe acute respiratory illness or SARI. In the last 24 hours, 1,134 new cases were reported, taking the number of active cases to 7,026. This is the highest recorded since November, the Union Health Ministry said. After giving information about this, the Prime Minister held an emergency meeting with the health officials. In a meeting with senior officials, the Prime Minister suggested the need for mock drills and vigilance in hospitals. He also stressed on the need to maintain cleanliness and Covid-appropriate behaviour. A government statement following the meeting said, “The Prime Minister has directed officials to scale up whole genome sequencing of positive samples with designated INSACOG genome sequencing laboratories.” Namo also stressed the need to focus on Test-Track-Treat-Vaccination and COVID appropriate behavior strategies.

The Prime Minister said that the authorities should ensure the availability of essential medicines and supplies, including beds for influenza and corona patients. It is noteworthy that in the last two weeks, India has seen a gradual increase in the number of COVID-19 cases of influenza caused by H1N1 and H3N2 (adenovirus). This is a new concern. Adenovirus is of more concern, as it has caused the empties in the wombs of many mothers.
