wall bureau: The new leader of Kolkata Knight Riders has been elected. Sunil Narine or Andre Russell’s name came in place of Shreyas Iyer. But this time KKR has chosen a new captain in IPL. Nitish Rana has left behind veteran cricketers to become the captain.
Nitish led the Delhi team in domestic cricket. Out of total 12 matches, won 8 matches, lost 4 matches. Team coach Chandrakant Pandit handed over the responsibility to Nitish on Monday.
KKR’s preparations have been going on at Eden for the last one week. Seen in practice, the coach is practicing with Rana especially up front. Only then it was understood that this Delhi cricketer can be made a leader.
The condition of the night camp is not particularly favourable. Original captain Shreyas Iyer is likely to be ruled out of IPL due to injury. Lockie Ferguson is also injured.
