Kolkata: The rift between the leaders of the ruling party Trinamool and the leader of the opposition Shubhendu Adhikari has become a daily thing. Both sides do not miss attacking each other when given the opportunity. Meanwhile, state minister Pulak Roy filed a defamation case against Shubhendu Adhikari. This has increased the heat in the politics of Bengal.
Minister Pulak Roy said that Shubhendu Adhikari had made false allegations against him in front of the media on 11 November. He said that he has registered a case against the leader of the opposition party in that context. Pulak Roy filed this criminal case in the Uluberia Court and said that on November 11, the state’s opposition leader Subhendu Adhikari had made false allegations against me in the media. After seeing the case in the media, I sent a letter to him on 17th November through my lawyer to prove the allegations. He confirmed receipt of the letter on 22 November. However, even after this, the Leader of the Opposition could not provide any evidence. I had filed a case against the leader of the opposition party in the Uluberia court on January 3 for not giving any reply. Today I again filed a criminal case against the Leader of the Opposition in the Uluberia Court. “Shubendu Adhikari, I have sought justice from the honorable judge for defaming me.”

It may be noted that Subhendu Adhikari had alleged corruption in the Central Government’s Jal Jeevan Mission project. Minister Pulak Roy is associated with that corruption. Shuvendu had publicly complained about the same thing. The leader of the opposition party in the state claimed that corruption of at least Rs 500 crore has taken place in this Rs 1086 crore project. After that Pulak Roy went against Subhendu with this allegation without any evidence.
