Bangladesh’s dream runs in limited overs cricket at home. Shakibbra eliminated world champions England in the three-match T20 series. Before that, Bangladesh had registered a win against the British in the third ODI of the series. Maintaining the winning streak, Tamim Iqbal handed Ireland a crushing defeat in the first ODI of the series. Thus, Bangladesh won 5 consecutive international matches in ODIs and T20s combined.
Bangladesh won the match by a record margin against Ireland in Sylhet. He started batting after losing the toss. Bangladesh scored 338 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs. Bangladesh played their highest team innings in the history of One Day International cricket in this match. Bangladesh’s previous highest team innings in ODI cricket was 333 for 8. Tigers made that innings against Australia in Nottingham in 2019.
Shakib Al Hasan and Tauheed Hriday missed a couple of centuries in this match. Shakib was dismissed for 93, the highest for the team. He hit 9 fours in his innings of 89 balls. Tauheed returned home after playing a brilliant inning of 92 off 85 balls. He hit 8 fours and 2 sixes.

Apart from this, Mushfiqur Rahim played an inning of 44 runs in 26 balls with the help of 3 fours and 3 sixes. Tamim Iqbal 3, Liton Das 26, Najmul Hossain Shanto 25, Yasir Ali 17, Taskin Ahmed 11, Nasum Ahmed 11 and Mustafizur Rahman added 1 run. Graham Hume took 4 for 60 for Ireland.
In response, Ireland’s team got all out after scoring just 155 runs in 30.5 overs. Bangladesh won the match by a huge margin of 183 runs. This is Bangladesh’s record for winning the match by the highest margin of runs in the history of ODI cricket. Earlier in 2020, Bangladesh won the match against Zimbabwe by 169 runs in Sylhet. This was their record ODI winning margin so far.

Stephen Doheny scored 34, Paul Stirling scored 22 and George Dockrell scored 45 for Ireland. Ebadat Hussain took 4 wickets for 42 runs. Nasum Ahmed took 3 wickets for 43 runs. Taskin Ahmed took 2 wickets for 15 runs. Shakib took one wicket for 23 runs. Tauheed was adjudged the best cricketer of the match.
